SAP S/4HANA Embedded Analytics is an integral part of SAP S/4HANA and enables operational reporting on your data captured in SAP S/4HANA. Even during the execution of a business process, you can view the effects in the reporting.

For this purpose, SAP S/4HANA Embedded Analytics uses the possibilities of the SAP HANA database. Virtual data models are used for this purpose, which make the data available when a report is executed, without intermediate storage in the database. An analytical engine is also available for processing the data, which enables more complex calculations.

The implementation of the virtual data models is supported by the ABAP Core Data Services Framework, ABAP CDS for short. ABAP CDS supports the reusability of already developed data models to a high degree, which keeps implementation efforts at a low level. At the same time, the performance of the resulting database queries is optimized.

The analysis of these virtual data models is performed using SAP Fiori tools, which are provided with SAP S/4HANA. These integrated analytical applications create the possibility of providing required, analytical data to end users in real time during day-to-day business - without jumping to another system.
